But before they went in, I started some broad beans & sweet peas at the same time. Both took just over 1 week to show, and whilst the broad beans were good and strong, the sweet peas have put a lot of tall thin growth on - about 3 inches of thin stem before the first leaves show. I've put them inside the greenhouse to check them, but I think that a week in the propogator is as much as sweet peas should be left, then put them in the porch even if they haven't broken the surface yet.

Heated propogator
Bought myself a heated propogator - primarily so that the chillies - of which there will be 5 varieties this year (Scotch Bonnet, Krakatoa, Ring Of Fire, Superchilli and obviously, Jalapeno) could be started early as they took so long to get started last year that I think the growing season was too short.
