Going back on my words

I just couldn't say no. The prospect of digging up rows of lovely fresh spuds and having sacks full of untreated, unsprayed potatoes in the garage to last us through the winter was too tempting.

So I went to the hardware shop on the high street today & bought my seed potatoes.

1kg Swift (1st earlies); cost (after 10% allotment discount) £1.30. - 19 potatoes, which should be enough for 2 tightly placed rows.

3kg Kestrel (2nd earlies); cost (after 10% allotment discount) £4 - 30 potatoes, which will probably stretch to 4 rows. I've used Kestrel before & they weren't bad at keeping the worms off.

Started chitting in front of the garage window (away from the mice at the allotment) on 19/02 - to be planted Easter Weekend.
