Forgot to say. I spotted My first swallows at the plot (three of them) on 27/04/13. - 23 days later than last year.
Also - the frogspawn is still in the pond. I rested a piece of polystyrene above it to shelter it from the worst of the frost on a couple of occasions (moving it off in the daytime so that they get the sunlight)
