4 years in and there's a big whoop of celebration.

This is the first year that has seen frogspawn in the pond.

I often think that the frogs have disappeared because of their scarcity, but I spotted one 2 weeks ago in the long grass, and then I came across these little beauties last weekend - I'd say there's less than a dinner plate-full but it's the first time I've produced little froggie babies.

The slugs better watch out - there's a slimy army coming for them.

btw - It wasn't on the plot, it was coming in from the motorway, but I'm sure I saw a pair of swallows on the wing on the 24/04. I'll keep an eye open for them at the plot this weekend. That still makes them later than last year - my first sighting was 04/04 if I remember rightly.
