sunday night recycling

I'm not daft. I know that the level of wastage damage created in industry is far outweighed by any ecological impact i can have by recycling at home. But, you do what you can. every beer bottle I recycle is one less amazonian tree that I have to worry about, right?

However, I have just realised my true environmental impact.
I was putting out our recycling & I clocked the waste produced by the house across the street:

In the same 2 week period, we, as a family have amassed the following:

In our defence, we have had a bit of a Spring clean, but honestly!

I've decided that the only material difference between us & the 'minimal waste' couple is the fact that we have two children. That's it, scientific proof; children create waste.

The only reason I go to work is because I'm too embarrassed to meet the binmen's eyes.

There is a serious point..... a few years back, this would all be landfill.
